- Later in his career, the great bandleader Benny Goodman became so famous that he started being known simply as "Benny G." Kenneth Gorelick figured that since his last name began with a G, and his first name could be easily shortened to "Kenny", which rhymed with "Benny", he could start calling himself "Kenny G."
