Why:
He is actually saying 'if the guy loves ME more than he loves HER.' To say what he means correctly he'd say "If he loves you more than I.." But then that wouldn't rhyme, would it? Write it off to artistic license. But I'll always laugh at it!

Why:
This is about a guy who sees his woman getting married and for good. He vows not to get married because of it.
