Why They're Nonsensical:
Jim leaves girl to join Navy. Girl falls in love with Jim's friend, writes Jim letter telling him so. Jim writes girl letter saying he'll be home in 4 weeks,and to wait for him. Jim apparently had not gotten girl's letter. Girl doesn't know why she should be happy.
