Why They're Nonsensical:
The only thing off the Florida Keys is water, and lots of it. And as for as I know, the only place in the United States called Kokomo is in Indiana, which is in the middle of the freakin' heartland for crying out loud! But if that's where you want to go to get away from it all, Google says that place called Kokomo is about 1,407 miles off the Florida Keys. I wouldn't count on hearing the rhythm of a steel drum band in the middle of some cornfield.

I'd heard this geographical claptrap a few times via the radio before.It was on the radio earlier this afternoon,and as I listened carefully I was struck by just how dumb this whole thing actually sounds.This guy wants to take his girlfriend-referred to as pretty mama-say,what?,to an idyllic little spot called Kokomo,where the steel bands are great,there are bodies in the sand,live ones we hope,and where tropical drinks melt in the hand.[Whoever heard of drinks melting?Talk about the ultimate in crazy lines.]Kokomo is where it's all at if you want to get away from it all,take it slow.Why then doesn't he take her straight there.What's with all these insane detours-Aruba,Jamaica,Bermuda,Montego,Martinique,Key Largo-Something about that last placename irritated me.It sounds to me like this pretty mama is going to get a mite hacked off with this crazy itinerary,especially with him babbling on about perfecting their chemistry,defying gravity,moonlight nights and her dreamy eyes.In fact,if this tiresome clod isn't careful,this pretty mama might just dump him in Kokomo-or Key Largo.Yeah,Key Largo.That way she'll quit with two irritations at once.The fact that I was just up after a two hour nap when I heard this rubbish today,hasn't helped it's cause in the slightest.
