So many times, love went south
Down into the valley of the shadow of doubt
My faith was fading, my hope was gone
I wandered through the wilderness, all alone
Okay, I can forgive rhyming 'south' with 'doubt'; they're somewhat close. But 'gone' sounds nothing like 'alone.'

I can see you turn away
When I ask what for
You say it isn't anything
But I'm not sure
Away/anything and for/sure. These lines of the song are right up there with Brandy's 'Angel in Disguise.'

I can hear it sing loud and clear
200 miles and I'll be there
Well, at least she doesn't mangle the pronunciation of 'clear' in an attempt to force it to rhyme with 'there.' Still, it kind of messes up the flow of the song.

I've been living on the wrong side of Memphis
...
These cowboy boots are gettin' kinda restless
Okay, okay; so 'Memphis' isn't easy to find a decent near-rhyme for--but at least rhyming it with 'Tempest' in the first refrain sounded close enough. 'Restless' doesn't even come close.
