Why They're funny:

I first learned of this song by seeing a karaoke singer perform it. On seeing this line on the karaoke monitor, I laughed loud and long. That must the most bizarre juxtaposition of thoughts I'd ever seen in any song lyrics, I thought -- that is, "smile in my face" juxtaposed with "rip the breaks out my car". It's one of those occasions to say "I always hate it when that happens!". I came home afterwards and checked lyrics sites to make sure those were correct lyrics. I have observed that karaoke videos don't ALWAYS get lyrics right. I found various lyrics sites agree that those lyrics are correct and I STILL find it to be as bizarre and ludicrous a line as I've ever encountered in most any song!
