Why They're funny:
That lyric creates such a contrasting image. The first time you hear it you hear can hear the words 'ribbon' and 'christmas'. So you automatically think of jolly and merry times and just plain happiness. Then you understand that by that line he meant slitting his wrists. So your image becomes one full of happiness and christmas decorations with someone slitting their wrists. That's why I find it funny; because the two images just contradict each other.
