Sometimes a song you hear for the first time, is innocent and sweet sounding. Then you listen closer to the lyrics, and realize
it's talking about stuff you didn't realize. Double-entendres help disguise the filthiest of songs.

I got a brand new pair of roller skates
You got a brand new key
I think that we should get together and try them out, you see
AND Don't go too fast, but I go pretty far AND For somebody who don't drive
I've been all around the world
AND I'm okay alone, but you've got something I need
Unless you seriously think it's a song about roller skating, it's pretty obvious what Melanie means by inviting her love interest to try his "brand new key" in her "brand new pair of roller skates." Expressions like "I go pretty far" and "I've been all around the world" underscore the point. If you still don't get it by now, go back to Radio Disney.
