The Lyrics

What's In Your Garden?
Willamette Gardiner sings....

I’m growin’ some... Calla Lilies, Arum Lilies near my Mums
I’m growin’ some... Calla Lilies, Trumpet Lilies near my Plums
I got a jungle for a garden here
‘Cause I got two bright green thumbs

I’m gonna be rootin’ - rutabagas
Hope they ‘turnip’ fine
I’m gonna be stooping in my Bloomers
Swishing my behind
While my Calla Lilies blossom
I’ll let my love for Calla Lilies shine

Well I’ll look down my nose
To sniff up a rose, but if I had to choose
I’d pick the one you suppose
I’m goin’ with... Calla Lilies, Calla Lilies in the sun!
I‘m just a happy lil’ gardener
‘Cause gardening is so fun!

Oh But you know, yeah!

Now sometime ago one Easter, I met this sower guy
And I found a friend in Jesus
He’s the reason why
I’m growin’ these... Calla Lilies, Easter Lilies For God’s Son

Yes I’m a happy lil’ gardener and I like to grow some fun
Yeah, I’m a happy lil’ gardener and I love to grow some fun
Oh, I’m a happy lil’ gardener and I live to grow more fun

I guess Calla Lilies, Arum Lilies, Trumpet Lilies, and Easter Lilies are all synonomous

Not sure whether these will grow in Kansas City. Will have to ask a gardener. But with global warming, we could see palm trees in a few more years. Armadillos are working their way north. Reminds me that the Easter Cantata will soon be here.

Lots of things can grow in lots of places. It depends On the hardiness ( winter cold) and the heat zone of your where you are and what the plant takes.
