Carolina Girl
By: Rooster Louie

(Sung to the tune of "Brown Eyed Girl" by Van Morrison)

Hey, where did we go
Days when the games came
We head to that old hollow
We're playing a new team
Cloudy or sunny, hey, hey
Really didn't matter
Through the twisting morning drive with
Our
Flags a flying, and you
My Carolina Girl
You're my, Carolina Girl

2001 happening
"Cocky" makes the kids glow
"The Voice" is loudly pumping through my
transistor radio
Standing in the sunlight clapping
Leaning on those High Ramp Walls
Our hearts beat w'every new play
Feeling
every call with you
My Carolina Girl
You're my Carolina Girl

Do you remember when we used to cheer
C-A-R-O-L-I-N-ALet's Go Gamecocks!
C-A-R-O-L-I-N-ALet's Go Gamecocks!
Let's Go Gamecocks!

So hard to drive away
from that place that we call home
Know'n that the another game's
at least a week long
Cast my memory back there Lord
Sometimes I've overcome just thinking "bout it
The coaches show helps me get through things
'til I'm
at the stadium with you
My Carolina Girl
You're my Gamecock Girl

Do you remember when we used to cheer
C-A-R-O-L-I-N-ALet's Go Gamecocks!
C-A-R-O-L-I-N-ALet's Go Gamecocks!
C-A-R-O-L-I-N-ALet's Go Gamecocks!
C-A-R-O-L-I-N-A

Not very good. But better than Steve Spurrier. Oh, and, by the way, "Carolina" means the Tar Heels, and "USC" means the Trojans. That's what you get for making the Civil War a reality, Strom Thurmond the Never-Ending Senator and Georgie Bush the Republican nominee for President. (Google "McCain" and "South Carolina"... or "McCain" and "unfair")

Louis, I thought it was cute and kind of touching, but the pace was too far off for me to vote on it. Anyway, you're proud of your girl and I appreciate that. Hey, Michael, you shouldn't blame everyone from the South for those things. Even though I assume you were kidding, this wasn't a political piece - just local pride and family pride.

Michael Puke-o-lick....You have a right to your personal opinion. However, your "tone", moreso than my "tune", full well represents the very thing that is not good for S.C. or this wonderful country......i.e. folks with a dogmatic, sourpuss, condescending attitude. By the way......did it ever occur to you, in your presumptious brain, that I might not be a native South Carolinian or a Republican? You "appear" to be about as pleasant as being attacked by a mound of fire ants would prove to be. Have a great day.......and uh....just be yourself.....NOT.

Paul Robinson----Thanks for the kind words. As for the pace of the parody lyrics, I guess it's one of those situations where I'd have to sing it for you.....LOL! (If you could take it, I'd give it a whirl!). Have a Great Day.

Hey Rooster, I have a Bride I'm DJ'ing for who wants a copy of this song played for her garter toss. Did you make a recording of this song that I can purchase somewhere? Thanks!!
