Parody Song Title:

Parody Written by:

John A. Barry

The Lyrics

Original jingle:

I fear “Das Rheingold”:
that’s my fear.
I fly “Rheingold”
each time that it’s nigh (near).

Wagner isn’t a treat
for me; I’ll leave my seat
when that guy’s
vexing cry, “Rhein. . .,” I hear.

JAB - I DO like Das Rheingold and the other three ring operas. They contain the finest orchestral excerpts ever written (my personal favorites are The Magic Fire Music from Die Walkure and the finale from Gotterdammerung). Once you know all the leitmotifs, the operas themselves become understandable despite the interminable length and a language I neither speak nor understand. What were we talking about? Ah yes, beer jingle parodies. Keep 'em coming, barmeister. ;D

555!!! Since Rheingold is also a Third Reich system, I HAD to do my version! Thanks for the material, you deserve the credit :)

Thanks, OMR, Rob. You know what Mark Twain said: "Wagner's music is not as bad as it sounds."
