The Lyrics

Now that the chief architect of the PPACA's deceptive claims has been exposed, Barack Obama, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi have tried to distance themselves from him and minimize his role. In concert, they have "denied him thrice." So I chose this hymn, using three stanzas from Wikipedia and the fourth stanza from Hymnary, to pose a question for each of them.
Were you there when Jon Gruber climbed aboard?
Were you there when he "stupid voters" gored?
Oh, sometimes it causes me to tremble, tremble, tremble.
We grew scared when insurance price high-soared.

Were you there when Dems hailed "care truly free"?
Were you there when they wailed, "not tax but fee"?
Oh, sometimes it causes me to tremble, tremble, tremble.
Were Blues fair when they veiled Act secretly?

Were you there when they praised him in East Room?
Were you there when he raised them from their gloom?
Oh, sometimes it causes me to tremble, tremble, tremble.
Were you there when they paid him for our doom?

Were you there when The One deemed Gruber fine?
Were you there when he once excused Jon's lyin'?
O! Sometimes it causes me to tremble! tremble! tremble!
Were you there when that money ruse he'd sign?

Four-and-a-half years after its passage, we still don't know everything that was in the bill, Nancy.

Oops! TOS source links in my intro are correct but I reversed the Hymnary and Wikipedia labels.
I wanted to include "subsidy" and "penalty" in Stanza 2; you could sing them as "echoes" at the ends of lines 5 and 6, like "(Were you there)" in Wikipedia.

How fortunate for us that liberals, who count themselves so much smarter than anyone else, are often unable to conceal their conceit, and let the beans spill.

@ Callmelennie: I was not there exactly then, but I checked back on the same day. Thanks!
