A night or two ago
I climbed up on the house,
I gasped at what I saw,
And hollered for my spouse...
The shingles were not tight,
I knew this was not good,
So, I commenced to hammering,
It woke the neighborhood...

Oh, Shingle Nails, Shingle Nails,
Shingle all the way
'Gotta' nail these shingles down,
For Santa and his sleigh...

Christmas coming fast
'Can't have Santa falling down,
And wind up in a cast

I "tap tap" through the night,
It echo's like a drum
Sometimes there's an "Ouch"
That's when I hit my thumb...
At first, the neighbor's screamed,
"We can't sleep! Please come down!"
But then when I explained my plight,
They climbed their roofs to pound...
