Parody Song Title:

"Mesage Board is Up/Down"

Parody Written by:

Stuart McArthur

The Lyrics

they say it's healthy to express your frustrations :-)
message - board - is - UP!
message -board - is - DOWN!
message - board - is - UP!
and it's screwing us around

it does the hokey pokey
and I'm all confused
but stay tuned for good news

amiright - is - UP!
amiright - is - DOWN!
when amiright is UP!
it's the only game in town

but when it's being hokey
and it's screwin' us around
that's when we start to frown

Oh, Chucky, Chucky
you've....been so unlucky
tried to get unstucky....(but the)
new server's let you down

In-the-X is UP!
In-the-X is DOWN!
In-the-X is UP!
so nobody make a sound.....

that "can't-find-server" message
isn't there....(for now)
I think it'll be back
somehow

I was just thinking about a song about the board coming down, and I read this...brilliant timing, and great effort!

Yay, Stu! Great job!

And Chucky, it just goes to show how much we love you and the site that we get so upset when we can't access it. Thanks for all your hard work!!

So basically...my whole internet was down for most of the weekend...I'm glad to hear that I wasn't the only one pouting...=) Nice job, Mr. McArthur...

Great job, Stuart. I had trouble accessing the MB on Saturday, and I couldn't get on Amiright at all yesterday (Sunday) until the evening. Nice one.

hear hear, about Chucky, Ashkicksass - he's gotta be tearing his hair out, poor bloke
no, you weren't the only one pouting, Arwen, but you would've done the best job at it ;-)

btw, if you're wondering about the spelling of "mesage" in my title, I deliberately opted for the medieval spelling, because I, er, believe the OS dates from a courting dance popular amongst King Richard III's parlour staff
Ingeborg S. Nordén - November 22, 2004 - Report this comment
Although a few other people have covered this topic before, you chose a better OS (more familiar and easier to match on pacing). Credit where credit is due: 5-5-5!
Tim Mayfield - November 23, 2004 - Report this comment
Oh, OS means original song.. I was trying to figure out what Operating System had to do with this. Great job Stuart! I tried to get on 5 times!
Serafina - November 23, 2004 - Report this comment
This was really clever, Stuart! I don't use the messageboard, but like any site, it is a pain when the site is down. I tried coming to this site on Sunday, and I guess it was down pretty much all day. I thought it might have just been my internet connection at home, but I was able to access other sites with no trouble. Anyway, I give this a 5-5-5. :)

I'd like to point out that EVERY subject has been done more than once...and I don't really see the validity in commenting on it.

I've noticed, Stuart, that since you posted this parody, the MB has gotten its act together. I think it was afraid I was going to kick its ass.
Stuart McArthur - November 23, 2004 - Report this comment
You're onto me, Arwen (what can a simple-minded bloke like me do???)

I wrote this one in the hope that you would read it, make a comment, the message-board would see your comment, and get so afraid you were going to kick its ass that it would stay UP
( I know it was obvious, but I was desperate and it worked, okay? - so sue me)
Arwen - November 23, 2004 - Report this comment
Yeah, I'm probably going to sue you now. You'll be hearing from my attorney.
Stuart McArthur - November 23, 2004 - Report this comment
Yeah? Well, you'll be hearing from MY attorney!
