Song Parodies -> "Xanax, Stilnoct and Zoloft"

Original Song Title:

"My Bonnie lies over the Ocean"

Original Performer:

Traditional

Parody Song Title:

"Xanax, Stilnoct and Zoloft"

Parody Written by:

Peter Andersson a.k.a K1chyd

The Lyrics

I had to freshen up my knowledge of English Relative Terms. From that came this parody. Lines 1 and 3 in each verse are to each other either some sort of antonyms or (some sort of) rhymes. Furthermore: Special thanx to Ashkicksa*s for "Xanax". And finally: Before anyone objects to throwing in the Mailman among the relatives, think about it again... ;-)
My Father is voting for Dubya
My Mother is rooting for John
My Brother's in love with Charles Manson
No wonder we don't get along

Bring some, Pro-zac,
Xanax, Stilnoct and Zoloft to me
Bring some, Pro-zac,
Xanax, Stilnoct and Zoloft

My Uncle was raised by the Rednecks
My Auntie was going to Yale
My Sister's a rapper in Compton
No wonder I've spent time in jail

Bring some, Pro-zac,
Xanax, Stilnoct and Zoloft to me
Bring some, Pro-zac,
Xanax, Stilnoct and Zoloft

My Nieces' just eating ice water
My Nephew's a fruitcake and gay
The Mailman's all over my Daughter
He's coming 'round four times a day

Bring some, Pro-zac,
Xanax, Stilnoct and Zoloft to me
Bring some, Pro-zac,
Xanax, Stilnoct and Zoloft

My Father-in-law's a Drill Sergeant
My Mother-in-law's on the run
My Granny's on dishwash detergent
No wonder I'm not having fun

Bring some, Pro-zac,
Xanax, Stilnoct and Zoloft to me
Bring some, Pro-zac,
Xanax, Stilnoct and Zoloft

My Wife is a pagan and lardass
My Ex is a stalker for thrills
My Nanny brought Ho-Hos for Christmas
No wonder I need all these pills

Bring some, Pro-zac,
Xanax, Stilnoct and Zoloft to me
Bring some, Pro-zac,
Xanax, Stilnoct and Zoloft

M-Dawg: Yes it is George W (Dubya) Bush.

Clever! Good job, K1chyd. Now maybe you can parody the German version of the Christmas carol "Silent Night" using "Stilnoct"...?

Clever indeed!

As a mailman, I would object to throwing the mailman in among the relatives, except mine are MUCH WORSE ; ) Funny stuff.

M-Dawg, John, Adam, Martha and Phil: Thanx.

Johnny D: It's probably inevitable that there will be more use of... I mean references to prescription drugs in my parodies now that I'm working in the medical area. Don't know about Stilnoct for Christmas though, we'll see. :-)

Claude Prez: Those WORSE relatives of yours, are they UP in the family tree or DOWN in the district? ;-)

Ashkicksass: Are you sure that I'm not refering to now being on Xanax as a new and improved way of dealing with this parody-dependency? ;-)

Arwen: Thanx!

Sweet Indigo: Not because it hit to close at home I hope :-)

(ABC) That was so funny!! I've never hear of Stilnoct either, but there are so many medicines out there... 5's
Know 1 can hear you dream - January 20, 2005 - Report this comment
Stilnoct is a sleeping pill and the active ingredient in it is Zolpidem, maybe that's a help? I was under the impression that it was an international brand just like Prozac but considering that I for this parody had to learn about Xanax, which seems to have a Swedish version in Xanor, it might be that I was mistaken and that Stilnoct is the local name for something some of you will know by another name.

We take drugs very seriously at our house.

(ABC) See above.

Rick: Remember, this is not your house, this is the parody realm where you can reach carmatic balance by NOT taking it seriously... :-)

(ABC-X) Which one is it? Is this your parody or is this your parody on drugs? Excellent either way!
