The Lyrics

The first entry in the "25 Days of Christmas Parody" challenge (where I am writing 25 Christmas parodies about the holidays using the most popular (non-religious) Christmas songs ever (or at least the ones I could come up with ideas for). First off is an ode to Christmas becoming more and more popular and gobbling up nearby holidays in its wake. Enjoy! Original Song
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Even ‘fore the snow
Creeping up on us once again
September’s at an end
There’s Halloween and Thanksgiving to go!

It’s too early to start thinking of Christmas
It’s now July fourth!
With the fireworks bright to see,
You’re off decorating trees!
I can’t take much more!

Now I like Christmas just fine - but in the wintertime
At least put the turkey away!
Please wait for snow before you all can go
Ride on a one-horse open sleigh
And no one should be watching Elf ‘til after Turkey Day!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Let’s just take it slow
Should not be hearing Jingle Bells
Until the month that’s twelfth
It blows my mind that people do not know

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Soon the songs will start
And it sucks that they start to play each and every single day
Starting first of March!

I’m not saying that I do not like Christmas
It’s just so prolonged
So I have but one Christmas wish...cool down on the twenty-sixth
Keep it one day long
We should not try to have a year long Christmas,
Christmas (stop this!)
Christmas (please quit!)

Such an ambitious project to undertake. Needless to say I’m impressed that you pulled it off! Going to be looking foreward to reading these all month long!!

Nice way to open the list. 5's all around. I've been hearing a radio station that started playing Christmas songs before Veteran's Day. I keep thinking that this is the retail sector's cry for help since so many store chains are closing. E.g. Christmas in July offers.

pretty good stuff, Abbott. although, I think a year-long Christmas would be awesome! (lol!) 5s. also, kind of reminds me of last year, I did a similar "25 parodies of Christmas" thing. best of luck on yours! it's already off to a good start! it's a lot of work, but fun, too!

It's true that everyone thinks Christmas after the Fourth. It takes that much time to save up for the whole megillah.
