When I was about 9 my dad bought me a New King James study edition bible from the Christian church we were going to at the time. I haven't really looked at all these different translations.

Thanks Ann and Jon! You should read what most appeals to you. I started with KJV, went through NIV plus NASB, and love my NLT. I am a Gentile, so other versions that use Hebrew names for G-d (YHVH, Yeshua) or Festivals like Sukkot do not do anything for me. The Number One name for Jesus in the world is amazingly... Jesus!!!

I liked it.

Just found a version which omits the verse numbers and the typical double-column format. Maybe this will be the year that I finally read it.

Patrick, you might want to try The Action Bible which is in graphic novel illustrated form. Sells well. Walmart usually has it from $15-20!
