Parody Song Title:

"Lynette had a M1911"

Parody Written by:

Robert D. Arndt Jr.

The Lyrics

Lynette "Squeeky" Fromme attempts to kill President Ford in Sacramento in 1975.
Lynette had a M1911
Four rounds ready to go
To Capital Park- off she went
To kill Ford in Sacramento

Manson follower with redwoods to save
Stood out as red -dressed fool
Aimed the gun, was swept away
The trigger never pulled

Lynette had a M1911
Round never chambered, no go...
Life sentence, paroled,
had to let her go...

There is a Stephen Sondheim play, "Assassins", a musical tribute to Booth, Guiteau, Czolgosz, Zangara, Oswald, Byck, Fromme, and Moore, A friend of mine rents costumes and stage props. He called me to learn the correct guns for the show. High point is Charles Guiteau singing "I'm Going to the Lordy" as he dances on the steps of the gallows.

And let's not overlook that light hearted romantic comedy about assasination -- Groundhog Day of The Jackal -- where an assasin known only as "The Jackal" is forced to relive his attempt to assasinate Charles de Gaulle over and over again ........ until he gets it right

Even at a young age, I did not like President Ford. He was a bumbler as evidenced by the constant news footage of him stumbling and falling which first led me to love Chevy Chase long before the Vacation series of movies!
