The Lyrics
No chorus in this version. In the 3rd verse, the leads being referred to are Andrew and Fergie, Duke and Duchess of York. The movie was based on their true story. In the 4th verse, "caved under such force" means that problems that couldn't be solved kept coming and they were under so much pressure that the romance ended. In verse 5, the "children" were the pair's two daughters, and the "public nightmare" means that the media was always following them, even in the throes of the crisis.
1. Oh, we were in love. We felt so above a building and even a cloud. We felt oh so snug. We'd kiss and we'd hug. And just feeling this thrill made us proud.
2. One night he told me where nobody could see, "Baby, our date days are o'er." I felt I'd been mocked, for I was in shock. Finally, I collapsed to the floor.
