The Lyrics
President Obama now faces the most potentially ruinous choice since the mythological Judgment of Paris. If he approves the XL Pipeline, his far left environmentalist supporters will be furious. If he blocks the pipeline, big labor will be equally angry. His "decision" is to postpone a decision until after the 2012 election, thus preserving both pillars of support. In the meantime, energy costs spike and we go deeper in debt purchasing oil from hostile sources abroad. Jobs created by the project remain a "pipe dream" while unemployment remains unchecked. At least President Obama IS preserving one job...his own! ;D
Won't make my decision about the pipeline
Until the election is won and is mine.
I've two diverse factions and both I must court.
I must have the greens and big union support.
For if I approve, the far left will rebel.
They hate fossil fuels so they'll give me all hell.
But if I should block it, big labor will fume.
I've got to have both, but this time there's no room.
This weighty decision's too much of a load,
So I'll just keep kicking the can down the road.
I'll cause no dissention so I can stay Prez.
Meantime, we'll buy oil from Mideast and Chavez.
As always, I use the Germanic tune (sol sol fa mi re do) rather than the Scandanavian melody.
