The Lyrics

Space does not give me room enough to detail the entire history of the Heinkel He-162 Volksjaeger (People's fighter) except to state that it won the 1944 Emergency Fighter Program and was designed and built in 90 days. It was the second German jet fighter operational after the Me-262 but problems with the wood bonding led to a tragic death and construction delays. By April 1945 JG 1 at Leck started to receive most of the 53 units alotted. Most needed service so only a few ever got into the air. Nevertheless, the He-162 claimed 4 Allied kills which are debated (2 are confirmed, but 2 are contested). They are 1 Spit, 1 Tempest, and 2 P-47s AFAIK. Upon surrender, the Germans had moved production underground with over 900 of them under construction. Despite rumors of Hitler Youth flying these, none were. All He-162s were flown by experienced LW pilots, the armed glider He-162S idea scrapped.
Heinkel, Heinkel, Volksjaeger,
Second Nazi jet in war!
Up above the Reich so high,
Like a raptor in the sky
Heinkel, Heinkel, Volksjaeger,
Second Nazi jet in war!

When the bombing runs raged on,
When the escorts pounce upon,
Then you showed your awesome might,
Heinkel, Heinkel, in the fight
Heinkel, Heinkel, Volksjaeger,
Second Nazi jet in war!

When the battles seemed so stark
Heard your 20 mm MGs bark;
Saw a Spit and Tempest glow,
Falling to the earth below
Heinkel, Heinkel, Volksjaeger,
Second Nazi jet in war!

In the fight for just three weeks,
Four air kills were yours to keep,
And when JG 1 was occupied,
The pilots held their heads up high,
Heinkel, Heinkel, Volksjaeger,
Second Nazi jet in war!

You mentioned the Me-262 was that the first Nazi jet to fight in a war? and great parody on the second one too! :-) 5's!

Yeah, the Germans started off with the first jet in 1939, the He-178, and then moved on to the He-280 jet fighter with ejection seat which was rejected in favor of the Me-262. Meanwhile, they also introduced the world's first rocket fighter, the Me-163 Komet, and also the world's first jet bomber, the Ar-234 Blitz. At the end, the Germans were way ahead in jet development in engines and aircraft. They had a range of jet and rocket aircraft in development: Ar E.580, Ba-349 Natter, DFS-228, DFS-346, Fw-190TL, Fw Ta 183 Huckebein, He-343, He Romeo and Julia, Ho-IX, Ho-XVIII, Hs-132, Ju-248, Ju-287, Lp P.13b, Me Bf 109TL, Me-328, Me P.1101, Von Braun Interceptor, and Zippermayr Pfeil. The Allies raped Germany of all of this tech in addition to ejection seat tech, axial-flow engine tech (Jumo 004E had afterburner), Walter RATO units, swept-back and forward wings, variable-sweep, deltas, as well as all aerodynamic configuarations. Germans also designed spacecraft too and had experimental disc craft with exotic propulsion systems STILL classified until 2020.

The rare He-162S trainer that was to be armed for the Hitler Youth. It was rejected for that usage as Blohm und Voss already had a glider-fighter in the Bv-40. He-162S: http://discaircraft.greyfalcon.us/picturesr/he162.jpg
