Parody Song Title:

"My Preciouss Lies Over Eregion"

Parody Written by:

Phil Alexander

The Lyrics

My Preciouss lies over Eregion
My Preciouss lies over the Shire
My Preciouss was stolen by Baggins
We hates him, the thief and the liar

[Chorus:]
Bring back (Gollum!) bring back
Oh bring back my Preciouss to me, to me
Bring back (Gollum!) bring back
Oh bring back my Preciouss to me

We followed the Preciouss through Moria
Where goblins and balrogs control
We watched as the Preciouss escaped and
An old man fell down a deep hole

[Chorus]

My Preciouss spent days with the elveses
Which caused this poor Sméagol much pain
My Preciouss came out in the boatses
I followed the Preciouss again

[Chorus]

Sméagol wants the Preciouss from Baggins
But by sneaky hobbits was caught
We promises help on the Preciouss
But Gollum's word countses for nought

[Chorus]

Sméagol wants the Preciouss from Baggins
And wants sneaky hobbits for dead
But Gollum has sworn on his Preciouss
So leads them to Shelob instead

[Chorus]

But Bagginses made it to Mordor
To throw Preciouss into the pit
We bites the ring right off his finger
And starts falling backwards, oh S**T!

[Chorus]

My Preciouss lies over in Mordor
My Preciouss lies inside Mount Doom
My Preciouss has melted beside me
I share with My Preciouss my tomb

I don't care what others say, there can never be enough songs sung by Gollum!

I can't stop chuckling over the Oh S**T line! What fun with an old classic! 5-5-5

I liked it better when Data said, "Ohhhh, s---!" in "Star Trek: Generations." But does this mean someone's gonna have to do Jerry Butler's "For Your Precious Love"? I refuse to volunteer!

Here it is, Phil: "Your precious love means more to me than any love could ever be. For when I wanted you, I was so lonely and so blue, for that's what love will do. And darling, I'm so surprised, oh, when I first realized that you were fooling me. And darling, they say that our love won't grow. But I just want to tell them they don't know. For as long as you're in love with me, our love will grow wider, deeper than any sea. And of all the things that I want, in this whole wide world, is just for you to say that you'll be my girl. Wanting you, I'm so lonely and blue. That's what love will do." One of the great slow-burn songs of all time. Top 10 in 1958, it was the first hit song for Jerry Butler and the Impressions, who soon went their separate ways. It was also covered by the Stones. There's also "Your Precious Love" by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell, recently covered by Erykah Badu & D'Angelo, and "Precious and Few" by Climax, led by Sonny Geraci, who was also the lead singer of the Outsiders, who did "Time Won't Let Me."

Do you think that we can do a LOTR Musical? The Misc-M category has at least two Lord of the RIngs songs.
Pat - June 29, 2003 - Report this comment
Well, as another LOTR fan, I loved it...all 5's......you gonna write more on this?
Phil Alexander - June 30, 2003 - Report this comment
Well, I've done another couple of LOTR parodies ("Go Strider, Orcs Must Die" to "Ghost Riders in the Sky" and "Frodo and Sam" to "Jack and Diane"), and Steve Cavanagh's done a wonderful "New Orcs, New Orcs", plus some more. There's a fair few, methinks.

Phil: I don´t think I´d even given this song a thought in years before I read this parody. Though I did hear it a lot when I was a kid. I don´t really remember why, I think it must have been popular on some of the kiddie shows on television or maybe on the radio my mother had on when she was making dinner etc. Anyway, almost immediatelly I came up with a couple of parody ideas for it myself, the following being the first and so far only one to be completed:

Two minor pacing problems (the odd stress in "Sméagol wants..." and "for dead"), but otherwise a great send-up and a faithful re-telling of the story. Three fiveses, yessss... :)
