The Lyrics

Amazing! My last submission was on November 17...almost a full month ago. In my defense, I've been singing my parodies at every opportunity, leading bands/choruses for Christmas programs (no longer school groups), and giving in to sloth in general. So...what's new out there? ;D

Old Man Ribber took a break - let his pen grow fallow.
Didn't merely want to fake - and write stuff too shallow.
But many events transpired - during his vacation.
Deep dark forces had conspired - to confound the na-tion.

Wiki-Leaks caused trouble here - they unleashed a crap shop.
Gibbs said we have naught to fear - from one geek with lap top.
We had time to stop this play - if we'd just been bolder.
But not with the D.O.J. - run by Eric Hol-der.

Rioting in France and Greece - now has come to Britain.
Once lands of domestic peace - now they're seeing hittin'.
Angry French and English blokes - now burn, stone, and throttle.
Makes us wonder why our folks - want them as our mo-del.

O. pushed for a compromise - both sides now will yell out.
Keep Bush taxes? Is it wise? - Left calls it a sell out.
O. now shows some guts and grace - at last gives direction.
What has brought this change of face? - It's the last e-lec-tion.

Now the snow is falling fast - 'tis the festive season.
Old Man Ribber's back at last - with more rhyme than reason.
Cheer to all both near and far - as bells jingle jangle.
For no matter who you are - you're not Charlie Wrangel!

As my friends in Indiana used to say...Merry Christmas to all and to all Bobby Knight. ;D

Very fine satire..covering all recent major political happenings..Sort of a "Hello Fodder-Here's Anudder" scenario

Ah, songs about writer's block. And here, I thought Arwen and I were the only ones who did that. Ironically, I just read your parody about the Bengals... So much for you being "no longer lost!"

Welcome back. I've been a bit sparse myself lately. Wonder where another cerTTain someone has gone. For better or worse, Washington will always supply us with something to write about. I wonder if that counts as entitlements or social welfare? Or perhaps a subsidy?
