Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Oh the runny nose will vex us, when sick with flu are we,
No other bug can match it, for common agony.
We cried from ragweed fever, but flu has got it beat,
And if it doesn’t kill us, we’ll party in the street.

It’s the most annoying symptom that noses ever knew,
With drops of liquid diamonds, that sparkle like the dew;
You may feed us anti-histamines and mugs of green leaf tea (blech!),
But the runny nose will vex us, with most perfect certainty.

With the mucus river flowing, and fev’rish eyes so bright,
She lies in wretched misery all through the sleepless night
I know that she remembers, when we parted yesterday,
I kissed her oh so sweetly, and gave my germs away.

It’s the most annoying symptom that noses ever knew,
With drops of liquid diamonds, that sparkle like the dew;
You may feed us anti-histamines and mugs of green leaf tea (blech!),
But the runny nose will vex us, with most perfect certainty.

But when she’s well she’ll find me, and my heart is full of dread,
I’ll sing the blues sincerely, and wish that I were dead
She’ll stuff my nose with pepper, and ruin it for shore,
And the runny nose that vexes shall be mine forevermore.

It’s the most annoying symptom that noses ever knew,
With drops of liquid diamonds, that sparkle like the dew;
You may feed us anti-histamines and mugs of green leaf tea (blech!),
But the runny nose will vex us, with most perfect certainty.
Sniff! (c) 2010 Michael Juergens

Nicely done. Now who you gonna call? Nosebusters!

(SOTM) Not bad, could've used some chorus variation, but for a short song and a common topic, you did pretty good. Worth a 555.

Agree largely with TCOP, and now I want to write a parody about Nosebusters (Jeff--you are too funny--not sure where that popped in from though). My only real criticism for you is the grammar stuff. "when sick with flu are we" just reads really weird unless that is the style of the whole parody (such as "We Three Kings of Orient Are" . . .it sounds unnatural--but still like the idea, love the word Vex in general

Thanks to all for sharing your reactions. They are each appreciated! Dave, had to be 'we' there, it was driven by the original pun, had to be plural to agree with 'us.' The collective refers to Mitch's chorus, of course....
