The Lyrics

Here is a shameless plug for my adopted instrument. For my fellow band geeks, let the record show that I was actually a euphonium major. ;D

Come on, get out your trombone.
Make that music gliss and moan.
Can't do that on a saxophone,
So hear the sound of the horn!

So put that thing together,
It plays in any weather.
Will it sound good? Much better!
So hear the sound of the horn!

The lips are connected to the mouthpiece,
The mouthpiece connected to the lead pipe,
The lead pipe's connected to the inner slide,
The inner slide's connected to the outer slide,
The outer slide's connected to the rear tube,
The rear tube's connected to the tuning slide,
The tuning slide's connected to the front tube,
The front tube's connected to the bell front,
So hear the sound of the horn!

Trombones trombones gonna slide around,
And Old Man Rib's gonna go to town.
Hang on you folks 'cause we're Dixie bound,
So hear the sound of the horn!

(Long instrumental break in Dixieland style, featuring incredible "tailgate" trombone work)

Oh this is how Ilike to play,
But now I'll put my ax away
And save it for some other day,
So hear the sound of the horn!

The bell front's connected from the front tube,
The front tube's connected from the tuning slide,
The tuning slide's connected from the rear tube
The rear tube's connected from the outer slide,
The outer slide's connected from the inner slide,
The inner slide's connected from the lead pipe,
The lead pipe's connected from the mouthpiece,
The mouthpiece connected from the player's lips,
So hear the sound of the horn!

You'll get more gigs if you play guitar.
A trombone player cannot be a star.
But it sure takes me very far,
So hear the sound of the horn!
Come hear the sound of the horn!

What is the difference between a frog and a trombone player? A frog has a much better chance of getting a "gig"! ;D

Great job on a parody about a great instrument! :-) I'd like to reply with "76 Trombones", but I'd have to change the title and much of the song to "555 Trombones", which would be difficult at best.

Never tried any tromboning, but if it's as good as trimboning, then I can see why you like it so much. One of my faves is Alex Henderson of the Brian Setzer Orchestra & Big Bad Voodoo Daddy - ever heard of him?

Tried one once. . .couldn't play it at all, but I am a failed sax player and as such, can really appreciate this. Gonna send the link to my oboe-playing wife and some of her musical friends.

This one is shiny and produces a nice 555 Hz sound.
