The Lyrics

In the waning days of 2007, I thought It would be a good idea to parody this song. It's another one of those songs that a lot of people have heard, but few know the name of (at least I didn't know the name until I did some research). Anyways, Old Lang's Signs is a business that I made up simply because it sounds like the original song & I thought it would be funny to write a song about it. Anyways, enjoy the parody & Happy New Year's to all! Here's to a better 2008! DKTOS? (Don't Know The Original Song)

Alvin - Do they have a holiday sign that says "Happy New Year!" ? If so sign me up for one. Great idea and right on time for the New Year. The OS to this is so old that one has to read into its meaning of Ye Olde English. Or should I say "Auld"?

I wrote a parody a few years back called "All Gang Signs" - All it seemed to do was attract gang bangers who went into pontificating diatribes about gang shid. And some amirights bantering about with the commenters. There are around 110 comments on it and has been viewed 246 times and it has one vote. LOL,

Now to view your other "Auld Lang Syne" parody for today.

Dylan - Sorry my bad - I did not and I assumed (bad choice of words "ass" "u" "Me".) that Mr. Alvin did both of these. My bad, my bad, my most grievious bad, sir. It is coincidental that you and Alvin did the same song on the same day but that is not surprising since it is Dec 31st. Your parody is very good and I did find a reference to your idea on the world wide web which I will not post here. If that gave you the idea then you took it way farther than the lazy bum that only did a mere fragment on it. and no I did not find it on amiright.com. Well done sir and Happy New Year and thanks for putting me straight on this. I have poor eyesight and I compensate for it a lot but sometimes I just skip over text that I should be reading. Don't know which parody I like better today - they are both excellent!

That's OK, Guy. We all make mistakes sometimes. As for the other "Old Lang's Signs" thing, I'll have to check it out.

After further notice, I found out that the other "Old Lang's Sign" thing was from Allan Sherman, co-creator & producer of "I've Got a Secret". However, Allan's version only had one sign. This one has many signs, all for low prices. The "Happy New Year's" signs are priced at $2, so hurry up & get one!

I have a song called "Old Lang's Sign" that's available at CDbaby. I sell an inordinate amount of copies versus the 90-odd other songs I have available and I don't know why! Anyway, I had a step-granddad named Lang and he had a business that I painted the sign for as a 15-year-old. He was a dark dude, moody...so one night I concocted this instrumental version of it whilst performing in my band for the equally moody folks in Erie, PA on a snowy New Year's Eve in 1980...that's my story. But for the life of me, I cannot figure out why people buy it. I'm glad they do, but............................................................................
