The Lyrics

I picked her up in Denver
On a windy afternoon
Had one suitcase and a guitar
She sang a country tune
Gave her name as Carolina,
I asked her, "North?" or "South?"
She said she liked men funny.
And thanked me with her mouth..

She was the sweetest ray of sunshine
That I had ever known
We stopped and found a mattress
She thrilled me to the bone
I loved her with a passion
That hurt my heart inside
But, She Loved Andrew Jackson
And I was just a ride

Said she was bound for Nashville
To be a country star
I said, you've got the talent
I'm sure that you'll go far
When gridlocked on that freeway
Stuck in a five mile line
She sang and picked out, "Crazy"
As great as Patsy Cline..

She was the sweetest ray of sunshine
That I had ever met
And even though it's over
My heart's applauding yet
I loved her with a passion
That hurt my heart inside
But, She Loved Andrew Jackson
And I was just a ride..

Drove all the way to Memphis
And moteled for the night
She seemed a little edgy
Knew somethin' wasn't right..
I was still there in the morning
But, my cash and car were not..
On the mirror in the bathroom
She lipsticked, "Thanks a lot!"

She was the sweetest ray of sunshine
The cuteness of a pup
If she makes it big in Nashville
I might just look her up..
I loved her with a passion
That hurt my heart inside
But, She Loved Andrew Jackson
And I was just a ride..

Yes, She Loved Andrew Jackson
And I was just a ride

"And thanked me with her mouth." - Great line!... sounds like the plot of OS "Summer Wine"... Take these three Lincolns.... and thanks to alvin for clearing up the AJ reference; the Turtle is slow today.

Andrew Jackson must be one happy guy. "If she makes it big in Nashville" . .. just maybe-just maybe. . .

Very clever stuff, here, AFW! With a song like this its easy to get the Jackson and 'Johnson' administrations mixed up!

Airfarcewon, if you ever do another parody of this song, call it "He Loved Andria Kilgore". I am 5'7", 155 pounds, I have tush-length curly natural red hair, blue eyes, large breasts, a very curvy body, I dress like a slut, I listen to any music made before 1995, I live in a trashed-out 1962 singlewide trailer and I drive a 1988 Yugo. Is that enough for you to write a song about me?

You're puttin' me on, right, Andria?

AFW, all that info is true. You can write a song about me if you like. No, I'm not putting you on.
