"The Rock Star Mangled Banner"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

A tribute to Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler who, deliberately trashed Our National Anthem at the Indianapolis 500 motor race to suit his own tastes. As a result, the last stanza became "And the home of the Indianapolis 500". Tyler was then booed by half the spectators. This happened in 2001,ironically, the same year as the 911 tragedy.
Oh say, did I you hear?
Steve forgot the last line.
So he changed a few words
To support liberal leaning.

His big lips and ego
To the crowd from behind.
His fans say, "Get o'er it."
But the vets* are still screaming.

And the engine's loud blare
The cars crashing in air
Gave proof to the day
That the race was barely there.

Oh, say won't these stars' mangling "Banner" behave?
On the land of free speech
Worshipping the stars' graves.
*Vets-Short for Veterans, the true heroes who were disgraced by Tyler's "showmanship".
