The Lyrics

If you don't know who the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers are, check out the links at the bottom!
We Freak things from Knockabout are
Taking drugs we jump in the car
Ready and tanking,
Freddy and Franklin,
Phineas on guitar

Chorus:
O, Furry Freak Bros, high as kites
Fabulous (if not that bright)
Hashish smoking deeply toking
Needing us to strike a light.

[Verse 1: Fat Freddy]
My name's Freddy, and I am fat
I can't find my F*****G cat
He's in the dead zone
Put on my headphones
Into which he had shat

Chorus

[Verse 2: Freewheeling Franklin]
Franklin sense to offer have I:
Incense hides the smell when you're high;
Hash cakes tasted
All men wasted
As Norbert the Narc goes by

Chorus

[Verse 3: Phineas Phreak]
Phinally, it's Phineas Phreak
Of Fundaligionism I speak
Life's so sunny
Rolling in money
That's my religious critique

Chorus

Glorious now behold in a daze
Cartoon Gods (and other clichés)
Let us sing "Gilbert Shelton
Gilbert Shelton, Paul Mavrides"

Thanks TD - but don't you know the Christmas carol "We Three Kings"? You know, "We three kings of Orient are/Bearing gifts we traverse afar/Field and fountain, moor and mountain/Following yonder star"...

...and the Freak Brothers - try clicking the Freak Brothers home page link at the bottom (looks like I screwed up on some of the others - the Phineas one works), and you'll get the idea.

Nice song, and thanks for linking to my site. There are some errors with your picture links though - the sub-directories are wrong - change "phineas" to "franklin", "freddy", "cat" and "others" respectively.

Phil, Loved and, to some extent, lived it. Was a big "freak brothers" fan back then. My current host while I'm on vacation still has almost all those underground comics from yesteryear and mostly in close to "primo mint" condition. Thanks for the point out. After I posted that story I was talking with my host and his wife about the "good old days" and he started telling his wife the story (he didn't know I'd just posted it here on the messageboard). His recollection was virtually the same as mine and we were all cracking up.

Know what you mean, Paul - though I never lived to quite that extreme, I shared a house that was more than a little Freak Brothers at times...

Phil, another danger sign of extreme age: I just went over to that "How old are u parody authors" to see if anyone would cop to being an older fogey than I (still none yet) and saw your comment and thought I'd check out the parody, which of course I had already checked out the LAST time I was over at that Messageboard item (1/16) 6 days ago. But this is still a great parody and since my memory is so lousy now I got to enjoy it again just like I had never read it before. Well, way past my bed-time, actually getting up 6:30 am tomorrow (7 1/2 hrs. from now) to go with my host to Ukiah (20 miles South of here) to take care of some odds and ends. Thanks again!

Phil - OH Boy, I saw there were some new comments on the "how old are you parody writers" thread. Found your link to this parody and voted, because I thought I had somehow missed your note and link back when you posted it. Then went down to comment and saw not one (Jan.16, 2004), but two (2nd one was Jan 23, 2004) comments from me on this one. So you got an extra vote since I am on a new PC now so my old cookies weren't around. But this one is worth it!
