(The wives of the marchers get together.)

Have you seen them propping up the bar?
Husbands, sons and other friends
Who didn’t get too far?
Have you seen them trying to look cool?
Going off to make a point
And coming back a fool.
Have you seen them
Drinking, playing pool!

Will they ever have another go?
Start again from somewhere else
And see the marchers grow?
They weren’t ready for a bloody fight.
Should have had some weapons
But they thought it wasn’t right.
Now they’ll keep on
Drinking till they’re tight!

Nothing’s changed, we’re still all ruddy poor.
Every week another shop that leaves us wanting more.
It won’t happen, no-one hears our cries.
Telling us it’s going to change, it’s all a pack of lies!
Tearing, tearing, tearing, tearing, tearing
Up our lives!

Tearing, tearing, tearing up our lives,
Never any money and no honey in our lives.
What’s the answer, nobody can tell.
Life is very difficult and worse than bloody hell!
