The Lyrics

One more U.S. House member has decided to make way for a less liberal successor. I followed the rhyme scheme of TOS even when that was only approximate, as is often allowed in country music lyrics.
Some people say that man portrayed Elmer Fudd;
A poor charade, doubtless hustled each bud,
Wrestled in mud; bland spin he'd drone
Behind statist streak of Barack that's wrong.

He served sixteen terms; what did we get?
An open gay scolding us steeper in debt.
Grim Reaper, won't you call him if he wants mo'? [1]
He owed his role to his New Bedford core. [2]

He was sworn in 'eighty-one as Dems didn't shine.
His shtick up in government was balking red line. [3]
He served sixteen terms with number-one goal,
And the ward boss said, "Well-tested pie-hole!" [4]

He served sixteen terms; what did we get?
An open gay scolding us steeper in debt.
Grim Reaper, won't you call him if he wants mo'?
He owed his role to his New Bedford core.

Slimed by porn, in 'ninety he was censured in vain.
Right-wing-in-trouble was his little game.
He was praised in the med'ia as a Kennedy lion. [5]
Cain't normal hormoned woman make his talk like mine?

He served sixteen terms; what did we get?
An open gay scolding us steeper in debt.
Grim Reaper, won't you call him if he wants mo'?
He owed his role to his New Bedford core.

He could see loss comin'; fettered, stepped aside.
Could not again win it (saw twenty-ten tide).
Won district morphin', his brothers lost zeal. [6]
If the right wing didn't get him, 'twas the left wing's deal.

He served sixteen terms; what did we get?
An open gay scolding us steeper in debt.
Grim Reaper, won't you call him if he wants mo'?
He owed his role to his New Bedford core.
[1] This is not my wish, but I don't want him to lobby or advise.
[2] Massachusetts' 4th District, including that city, has been heavily Democratic.
[3] Refers to Republican opposition and banks' former practice of discrimination in lending.
[4] I.e., praised his persuasive speaking.
[5] I.e., a strong supporter of the late Senator Teddy.
[6] After the 2010 census, remapping by Massachusetts' Democratic legislature was not kind to the 4th district.

Vary "New Bedford" as "Fall River", "Fourth District", and (if you're anti-PC and feeling superior) "lumpen D" to fit "company" in TOS.
Line 27 could begin with "With" instead of "Won"; line 28 could end with "pill" instead of "deal" to fit "will" in TOS.

BJM - If only Barney and Chris had taken early retirement ten years ago! My compliments on execution, sentiment, and a lovely wicked wit which reminds me of myself when I am on my game. ;D

Clever idea and title switch..and many fine interior subs...like it better when the political parodies are more like this...lighter and more humorous

OMR: Thanks; you just suggested three new categories for voting; I concur.
AFW: Thanks; title would work for 13, 14, 15, 18 or 19 terms. I wish it had been 13, although 6 years ago I had not discovered amIright and its comradery. I try to be civil, even to the same nasty guy in ~misc/billieholiday8.shtml
