This is wonderful, Johnny. If I had anything to do with planting the bug for classical stuff, you are really coming through. Let's do a whole book of "The Unpublished Lyrics of the Nutcracker". (Although with our luck, they'll stay unpublished)

This is nuts. Tokusu Sentai Blessranger would love this. For added effect, try singing this along with Spike Jones' version of the same tune. 555

Thanks, Rick and Agri.

OK, Rick, I'm up for tackling "The Nutcracker" in tandem with you. Why don't you post the next nut-cracking spoof yourself? I've gone back to Bach for now.

Agri: Where can I find Spike's version (preferably for free, har har)?

Uh...wow? Enlightening, but...the things you do to my mind...

Johnny: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000025L5D/104-8978449-2805569 for "Spike Jones Murders The Classics" which certainly ties in with our recent discussions at the Messageboard! That album contains highlights of an epic "Nutcracker Suite" EP Jones released in the late 40s. The full-version of Jones' "Nutcracker Suite" (which shifts from treacly Disneysque narrative to outstanding hyper-surrealism at the drop of a hat) is only available on the compilation Spiked! on Catalyst Records, which I guess is out of print because I can't find it online. Look in your favorite Comedy Section at your Tower Records, methinks. Both of these comps also feature "Pal-Yat-CHee", a nasty lampoon of Il Pagliacci with amazing vocals from Homer & Jethro. I recommend either one of these albums. If you want, PM or e-mail me and I will be glad to copy the Spiked! on cassette for you (and whatever else comes to mind)

Hmm, let's see, "CUTE PURPLE DINOSAUR" Change each letter "U" to "V", Add a C, a V, a V, an L, a D, an I and another V. What's that add up to? CVTEPVRPLEDINOSAVRCVVLDIV! Wow, that really is brilliant, Johnny D! And here I was thinking your parody was ROMAN about mindlessly! ;)
