The Lyrics

Attitudes about the US Fatherland have changed markedly in the past seven decades. But I can hope that changes. Compare to TOS from circa 1940.
[The 44th President]

This is my country, land of high worth;
Not a shy country, bandit of Earth!
I pledge fees for much grievance; America was bold,
But now it's fly country to travel and scold.

This was pride country, branded as Choice.
Dismissed snide country, hear my proud voice!
Why pledge thee my allegiance? America will fold,
For now it's fried country, unravelled and sold.

'Tis my wife's country, panned since her birth. #
Proud of her country, plans less waist girth; *
Alleges we'll be vegans, all sharing in one fold,
For this is her country to save and to mold.

[Tea Parties/Town Halls]

This is spine country, stands up for choice!
'Tis one fine country, each allowed voice!
We pledge freedom allegiance; America, we're told's
Worthy-to-die country more valued than gold.
# "For the first time in my adult life...." * She promotes exercise, healthful diet and home vegetable gardens (to prepare us for coming austerity?). Her waist is fine, but the typical citizen's is not.

Better last 3 lines are: Kiss this fine country, we're allowed voice! / We pledge freedom from regents, as very often told; / For this we'd die, country more valued than gold. Also I'd change "pride" to "prime" in line 5.

LOL...you are as tough a techical reviewer of yourself as you are of me. I, therefore, never take offense. Great stuff as usual...2010 will be pivotal. ;D

When I was in school, our class sang this OS. Well executed parody, Barry! Great to sing in the school pageant...or is it? Hope the US would get better in 2010. Take some patriotic 5's!

Thanks, OMR & CMM; I hope you didn't stumble on "AL-leges" and "free-DOM". It was challenging to find homophones for "allegiance" and "America". I'd like to change "save and to" to "ravage and" in line 12.
