Parody Song Title:

"Red Lines That Cannot Stand"

Parody Written by:

Barry J. Mitchel

The Lyrics

President Obama should heed the ancient proverb, "He who draws lines in sand should remember that he stands in it."
Can his nay likely sway
Assassins' crimes away,
Drawing red lines with his left hand?

Mahmoud [1] laughed when he cried,
"It's time that you abide
"By my red lines that spin so grand."

He made a vow that nukes would all raise rebukes;
But somehow, that vow meant nothing to kooks.

Now his chokin' heart quakes
With ev'ry knave that breaks
Across red lines drawn in the sand.

He made a vow Assad should never be bad; [2]
But somehow, that vow meant nil to that cad.

Now his woken heart shakes
With ev'ry knave that breaks
Across red lines they cannot stand.

[1] Ahmadinejad; Kim Jung Eun didn't fit the meter.
[2] I.e., moving or using chemical weapons.

In lines 10 & 15, "snakes" might be a better verb than "breaks" to describe those actions.

Good job here, Barry.....Why do we put up with bad ***holes who threaten everything that's good ?

You either draw a red line or you draw a line in the sand, not both.

Don Juan was a cad; Assad is a murderous dictator.

Thanks, Dave W. @MM: OK, change "drawn in the sand" to "on foreign land" in line 11.

@MM again: Replace "that cad" with "one mad" (as a tyrant can be) in line 12.

Well done, Barry - before a lot of people realized that there was a 'red line' issue. And now, for convoluted reasons, President Obama appears ready to negotiate with Iran but not with the United States House of Representatives.
