My distinguished colleague Michael Pacholek has undeservedly suffered through a disappointing season of Rutgers football. I feel for him, and I actually found myself rooting for them last night. Lo and behold, the Scarlet Knights drubbed South Florida. Mike...our politics aside, please speak well of U.K. basketball is you have a chance. ;)
Mike's gonna be happy,
Rutgers played quite snappy,
Beat the South Florida Bulls!
Thirty-one to nothing,
And that was quite something.
Made them look like hapless fools.
Savage - two touchdowns - and he was aflame!
Martinek - what a running game!
It's not a great season
But here's a good reason
To them I'll hoist an O'Doule's!

Like most Kentuckians who don't live in Louisville, I root for U.K. I, however, am a proud alumnus of Morehead State University (no cheap jokes please!), a small state school with the powerhouse music education department of the Midwest. ;)

Wow. I saw the title and thought this was going to be about the Yankees. Problem is I was sick Thursday night and didn't see the game. My father went, though, and was quite pleased. I felt better last night and went to my high school's State Playoff game, and we won, 27-0. Assuming RU doesn't go on probation in the next month, this will be the first time in 49 years of coexistence that EBHS and RU will both have postseason play in the same season. As for the University of Kentucky... anybody that hates Louisville and that (expletive deleted) Bobby Petrino must have something going for it.
Glad you liked it. Were you aware that at one time Louisville had both Petrino and Pitino as head coaches? Almost sounds like an Abbott and Costello routine. ;D
