For politics, not so much: A guy with the name Anthony Weiner would have had trouble getting elected, even in New York. As of this writing, Weiner has not yet resigned. The current rumor is that he's waiting for his wife to return from a foreign trip with her boss, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Mrs. Weiner also just announced, within days of this scandal first breaking, that she's pregnant. Awk... ward... I was hoping Weiner would be the next Mayor of New York. He's still more moral than the last 2 guys to hold the job. But at the rate he's going, Weiner's, uh, already holding the only job he'll have for a while.

Funny song. I'm old enough to remember that Arnold Schwarzenegger once appeared as the centerfold in "Playgirl" magazine. It didn't seem to harm his career very much. In the first "Terminator" movie you get a view of Arnie's "carear" when he arrives in the 20th Century. Maybe Weiner can be the "Mayor with nothing to hide". By the way, us right wingers don't have much use for Michael Bloomberg, though probably for different reasons than you do.

Saying Weiner is more moral than the last two NY mayors is like saying Moe is slightly smarter than Larry and Curly.
It's too bad the Schvanzenegger pix didn't ruin his career. Then he might not have had the chance to ruin CA.
Very funny. And ditto on the Queen line.
Weiner has called a press conference for today, at which he's expected to announce his resignation. The double-barrel of the angry returning wife and the House Democratic leadership threatening to strip him (or so to speak) of his committee assignments (which is where Congressmen can REALLY do stuff for their Districts) pushed him to this decision. What the hell, what Eliot Spitzer did was worse, he had to resign as Governor of the State of New York, and now he's a semi-respected nightly TV commentator. So maybe Weiner has a future. Just not in Gracie Mansion, the official residence of the Mayor of the City of New York.
