Song Parodies -> "Yadier"

Original Song Title:

"Loverly"

Original Performer:

Julie Andrews

Parody Song Title:

"Yadier"

Parody Written by:

Michael Pacholek

The Lyrics

A Pennant-winning home run for the St. Louis Cardinals? I could believe it if it was Albert Pujols. (The Yardbirds' "Heart Full of Soul" could become "Al-al-al-al-al-al-al-bert Pujols!") I could believe it if it was Scott Rolen. (The "Theme From Rawhide" could be adjusted: "Rolen, Rolen, Rolen, keep St. Louis rollin'...") I could believe it if it was Jim Edmonds. (Vikki Carr's "It Must Be Him" becomes "It Must Be Jim"?) But... Yadier Molina? The least-hitting of the three big-league catching Molina brothers? YAH-dee-ay Moh-LEE-na? Are you kidding me? The Mets really should be ashamed of themselves. I mean, more so than usual.
(Cardinal fan 1)
We need a hit for our Cardinals from St. Louie.
Hm!

(Cardinal fan 2)
The Mrs. wants a World Series win, great big victory!
Hm!

(Cardinal fan 3)
But first we need to win Game 7 back in N.Y.C.!

(all 3 Cardinal fans)
Hm-mm!
Hm-mm!
Could it just be Yadier?

All I want is a hit somewhere
o'er the fence past the pole that's fair.
Who could take up this dare?
Whoa!
How could it be Yadier?

Lots of fastballs for him to eat.
Aaron Heilmann, they guy he'll beat.
Sends Mets down to defeat.
Whoa!
How could it be Yadier?

Oh, so, Yadier is the guy
who really fills the bill.
I would never guess it's him
who closes in for the kill!

Mets slap heads, Cards will slap their knee.
Swarm 'round player as scores does he.
It don't make sense to me.
Wow!
Could it just be Yadier?
Yadier?
Yadier!
Yadier?
Yadier!

(Cardinal fans)
All I want is a hit somewhere
o'er the fence past the pole that's fair.
Who could take up this dare?

(Me)
Whoa!
How could it be Yadier?

(Cardinal fans)
Lots of fastballs for him to eat.
Aaron Heilmann, they guy he'll beat.
Sends Mets down to defeat.

(Me)
Whoa!
How could it be Yadier?

Oh, so, Yadier is the guy
who really fills the bill.
I would never guess it's him
who closes in for the kill!

(Cardinal fans)
Mets slap heads, Cards will slap their knee.
Swarm 'round player as scores does he.

(Me)
It don't make sense to me.
Wow!
Could it just be Yadier?

(Cardinal fans)
Yadier?

(Me)
Yadier!

(Cardinal fans)
Yadier?

(Me)
Yadier!
Anyone want to try the song "Maria" from "West Side Story"? "Molina, I just threw a pitch to Molina, and suddenly the game is riddled with such shame again..."

There should be more Broadway shows about sports. Remember Damn Yankees?

Unexpected homerun by Yadier. This parody is 5 run homer.

Nice to see a song about baseball, but I'm a little worried about the fact that it was a Julie Andrews' song. I don't think baseball fans are supposed to know who Julie Andrews is, rather than know one of her songs. Great parody though.

No, I'm not really Wierd Al; I'm just one of his wannabe fans.
