Parody Song Title:

"My Favorite Rings"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

"Julie Andrews, I apologize in advance!" -- Billy Crystal at the Oscars. Admittedly, a ripoff thereof.
Super Bowls, Stanley Cups and the World Series.
Championships to make grown men get teary.
One shining moment when everyone sings.
These are a few of my favorite rings.

Battered and breaded as they surround onions.
Spiciness burns you from dandruff to bunions.
With fries and burgers, a meal fit for kings.
These are few of my favorite rings.

Kobe to his wife, a gift that's gigantic.
Can't even see where it hit the Titanic.
Jewelry store racks up a million ka-chings.
These are a few of my favorite rings.

When my collar
has a sweat stain
and it's looking sad
I simply pour Wisk on that stanky old ring
and then it don't look... so bad!

Dempsey and Louis, Marciano, Ali.
Tyson and Holyfield, Lewis, by golly.
Watch out when Foreman sells and Frazier sings.
Boxing has one of my favorite rings.

Not 'round the tub, have to call Roto-Rooter.
Rather the kind you find in your computer.
Internet groups, it's a Web kind of thing.
That's another one of my favorite rings.

(OK, this is NOT one of my favorite rings, but if I don't mention it, I'll never hear the end of it.)

J.R.R. Tolkein's literary mojo
must be destroyed by that hobbit named Frodo.
Powerful magic, so precious it stings.
Still not seen any movies of the Rings!

Hear my phone buzz.
Caller ID:
"Catherine Zeta-Jones"...
That would be one of my favorite rings!
My mind's in the twi...light zones!
Alas, she still wears Michael Douglas' ring. With apologies to Seabiscuit, am I beating a dead horse?

Very good parody. I like the ending - keep dreaming the impossible dream.

Very nice! Yes, I would have been very sad if LoTR hadn't been mentioned, given that it's what I expected the parody was going to be about in its entirety. This was far better, of course.

I was thoroughly enjoying the first couple of stanzas and preparing to give you crap for excluding my Passion...but alas...you read my mind. You would have gotten 5's either way...it's fabulous...but since you swallowed your pride...if I could give you 6s, I would...

Catherine? Does this mean I can finally "get more"??? Thanks, everyone. And I knew I should've mentioned the Olympics. It should ring a bell.
