Is shy but how she speaks

'Twas apes that baught her life for years
And apes her tears relieved
how precious do her chimps apppear

Her work accomplished much to see
Her legacy secure
her will and skills and research leave
A hope that stil endures

So many jungles, trails, and snakes
She had to overcome
Her trips have brought her safe thus far
her work is still at Gombe

Now she's been there five decades strong
her findings still shine on
She's now less days to note chimp's ways
But still her hope's not done
