Parody Song Title:

"Pickin' Up the Shitz"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

I work outdoors. Nuff said.
I'm so sick of doggie-doo
Up and down the avenue
All those big, brown blobs out there
No pet owner seems to care

Jerks who don't know their follies
White trash and several collies
Waiting there for you
For your newly-bought shoe

Now if you're me
You clean it up every pup-py
Where he must go all little bits
Pickin' up the shitz

Different ways to clean up the doo
Heaven knows you sure don't want to
Soil your mitts
Pickin' up the shitz

If your dog eats like your closet Hoover
Better bring yourself a very super
Pooper-scooper

Don't mince words with little grannies
Who leave turds from canine fannies
Pugs and pits
Pickin' up the shitz

(Solo of woofing and crapping)

Every time I buy a rug he'll soil it
Gonna teach that mutt to use the toilet
Can't tin foil it

So declare it's simply not cool
Sittin' there that big smelly stool
Use some wits
Pickin' up the shitz
Now she's hit the big time in the USA

loved the "grannies/fannies" lines. Another classic from a room full of toilets. Good job Rick.

Im glad someone finally wrote a parody about this subject....

Rick-something every dog owner can relate to-good parody

Ooops, now I'm slipping in my own, er, business....

Sorry, my previous two comment-attempts were not what I wanted to write, so here's a third attempt - I requested the previous two to be deleted!

Taco’s version:

Messed-up – yikes – a million-dollar pooper!
Diamond-collared Westie's got no scooper!
Owner-stupor!

5's, and watch where you step on Newbury Street in Boston.

And there's the Jack Dee variation on a theme:
"You're supposed to use those doo-doo bins"
"They're a bit high for him"
"No, you put it in a plastic bag, first"
"I did, and the poor thing nearly suffocated"

Doggone it, that's great!

This was great too...we'll make sure to pick up after our dog (and ourselves) if we're in the Bay area

LOL - especially liked the closet Hoover line.

Rick D - Keep doin' the things that you doo-doo! Many among us show heaping talent and work special voodoo with doo-doo themes. Consider yourself in that Special Cat(box)egory.

Thanks all. This song is very tricky, with the inner rhymes. And the subject (fecal) matter is one of my pet peeves. Sometimes I feel like we live in a turd world country.

As I am the one in the house who's ususally forced to walk the dogs (and they aren't even mine), i can relate to this tune. ;)

I'm surprised Chucky posted this uncensored. That's Chucky, and thank you Rick for such a daring, funny song.

SOTM -- Heavy "doody" stuff, Rick! :)

(SOTM) I picture Taco prancing around in his old music video, skewering the dog-turds with his cane and dropping them into his top-hat.

I particularly like the soil it/toilet/foil it threefer. And "pooper scooper" is so perfect a sub for "super duper" that I'm gonna guess you started with that and built the rest of the parody around it. (Amiright?) You got great shitz, RAD.

JSOTM: Rick, you and I decided not to vote for one another, but I wanted to leave a note. Your parody is full of sh*t! And I like it a lot!
Johnny D - August 18, 2004 - Report this comment
Yeah, I agree with what Spaff postulated about the "pooper scooper"/"super duper" sub being the starting point, because I'll sometimes build a parody around a title-sub and/or a lyric-sub. (AreWeRight?)

Actually, I did start from the title, but as I mull these things over at work, lines pop out. But many times I just work down to a punchline I didn't know existed. I have over 300 originals, and I've been stealing from them since I started cranking them out for this site. If you ever heard some of them you'd say "Oh, he got that idea from the parody" "Shitz" can be considered a descendant of my song, "Dog-Doo", one of twenty songs on Rad and Mad's first album, "Butts of Jokes".

Never commented before, but I always thought this one was stool-pendous

(SOTM) Pugs and pits line was hilarious! :-D

Nice, clean (if smelly) take on the song. Enjoyed it over here.

sotm--still good, see above

By the by, my version of the song would indicate that you missed several stanzas at the end. It also has two musical breaks. Do I just have an extended version or something?
