The Lyrics

In spite of being a Yankee Fan, I have roasted a few of their players – mostly pitchers, including Kevin Brown, Esteban Loaiza, Tanyon Sturtze (So Bad), Scott Proctor and Kyle (Not a) Farnsworth. After messing up yet again in yesterday’s game against Oakland (mitigated only that it was ex-Yankee Hideki Matsui who hit the winning home run), it’s time to mention Logan’s Runs. Earned runs. I was going to do “It’s Boone Logan, Naturally,” to Gilbert O’Sullivan’s piece (even though I already did it for Sean Henn: “Gone Long On Henn, Naturally), but if there’s a sadder song than that, it’s Ol’ Hank’s classic. For the first verse, keep in mind that the Number 4 “subway” train becomes “elevated” right before it gets to Yankee Stadium, and can be seen going behind the bleacher wall.
Did you ever see a pitcher throw
a curve hit for long fly?
The subway train is hit by one.
It’s Boone Logan, I could cry.

Does he ever make a game seem long.
His pitches crawling by.
The ball just went behind a cloud.
It’s Boone Logan, I could cry.

Did you ever see a Yankee weep
when games begin to die?
That means he’s lost the plate again.
It’s Boone Logan, I could cry.

The silence of a Pinstriped sin
instead of asking, “Why?”
Girardi, why’d you bring him in?
It’s Boone Logan, I could cry.

Michael - Be of good cheer. You could be here in Cincinnati with Dusty Baker! BTW...really nice job here. ;D

I was thinking about writing a parody about that guy, you beat me to it. Each time Logan comes to the mound, it's an automatic loss. Granted David Robertson puts himself into jams as well but at least he gets out of it.

OMR, we could be in Cincinnati. In October. But if Logan's on the postseason roster, it may look more like 1976 than 1961!

Michael - Or even worse for us...1939! ;D

I have been wondering, do you remember the days of Acevedo, Osuna, Hammond, and Anderson?
