Song Parodies -> "Crops and Circles"

Original Song Title:

"Love and Marriage"

Original Performer:

Frank Sinatra

Parody Song Title:

"Crops and Circles"

Parody Written by:

Lionel Mertens

The Lyrics

In my last two parodies of Love and Marriage I was critiqued for my sloppy rhyming and pacing. To show that I am capable of rhyming precisely and in time with the original, I'll go where no man has gone before. I present to you this parody, "Crops and Circles".
Crops and Circles, Crops and Circles
Go together like the Borg and Urkel (Did I do that? Odd couple)
This it tell you farmers
Don't fight back without some armour

Crops and Circles, Crops and Circles
Come together in a place called Merkel (Merkel, TX)
Ask the late Rod Serling
And he will say it's saucers whirling

Try, try, try to complicate things
There's no invasion
Try, try, try, and you will only come
To "X" equation

Crops and circles, crops and circles
Go together like ole Spock and Kirko (sorry, for the impreciseness)
Look you oxy-morons
We can't have war with planet Zoron

One alien to another: "Hey, what say we travel across vast distances to this planet I know where we can make their arable produce into pretty patterns"... seems so likely, doesn't it? But Lionel, surely "Kirkles" would have rhymed better? ;-)

I doubt 10 people on Amiright could find Merkel on a map. The only reason I know about it is that I had a former supervisor who grew up there. How do you know about it?

Thanks for all the great feedback. I learned about Merkel through a rhyming dictionary Big Mark. It sounded remote so I landed my craft.

Phil: Like everything else, crop circle making is beginning to turn into a more or less legitimate commersial business now:

The Parodist Strikes Back at the pacing fanatics...and still manages to keep his work reasonably funny. Warp Factor 5-5-5!
