I bought a slaughtered young cow, it was a very good steer
it was a very good year, for small round grills
I'd eat steak every night
and some broiled greens
the best I've ever been

when I cooked every one, the barbeque I'd lit
it smoked as I had beer, my flaming taste sear pit
I did t-bones in pairs
my wife and I dined there
and we had such fun,
as I cooked each one

my freezer full inside, with that beautiful steer
to accompany steer, my beer was cold as ice
we had Bush's beans
and collard greens
I felt so alive,
my life would help me thrive

but now supplies are short I'm at the roast part of the steer
and I go tell my wife to get some wine
and riesling grapes
and then pull closed th drapes
ask her to come near..
it was a very good steer
