"Love Me Tender"

Original Performer:

Elvis Presley

Parody Song Title:

"Chicken Tenders"

Parody Written by:

Jan Unwin

The Lyrics

Chicken tenders,
Chicken strips,
Nuggets on the go.
Are you made from beaks and lips?
Perhaps I'll never know.

Chicken patties,
Formed and pressed,
Chopped and then shaped round.
Textured protein added too,
And it comes pre-browned.

Fillet of chicken,
Flaked and baked,
Breaks my chicken heart.
Sure I'm eating chicken but,
I don't know which part.

Chicken tenders,
Chicken ears,
Buttholes and tongues too.
I've got chicken out my rear,
Get a cluckin' clue.

(when at last white meat is real
Darling this I know
Prices will go up sky high
Everywhere you go).

The chicken parodies are coming home to roost, but this doesn't make you cock of the walk.

This is great! Can we dig up Elvis and ask him to sing it? ;-D

There was some fast food commercial a few years ago where customers of "the competition" asked what parts of the chicken were in the nuggets. "Parts is parts" was the answer; can't recall the chain though.

Another example of a yawnish song made much batter Jan! Merry, for all we know he has been dug up and is the subject of the song!

Funny thing is this song came so easy. I was cooped up one day, had the idea scratched in my head, and just thought I'd wing it. Thanks for pecking it out.

Another one I thought I'd commented on already - this is brilliant, and so true. - May 05, 2004 - Report this comment
I picture Elvis singing this onstage in Vegas, munching on a supersize side of tenders, dribbling crumbs on his pantsuit. And I mean that as a compliment. Great stuff.

I'm embarrassed to say that although I obviously commented before, when I double-checked to vote, it took so I guess those fives weren't fives after all. Great song BTW.
