Original Song Title:

Original Performer:

Parody Song Title:

"Allow Comments!"

Parody Written by:

Forteen and Baeutiful

The Lyrics

We're sometimes disappointed when we read a parodies we like, but the author hasn't allowed comments. What's that about? Are people just afraid of people being mean? The whole fun of this is getting feedback. If someone's rude, so what? Don't really nasty comments get reported and deleted anyway? Don't deprive other people of the chance to offer their kudos - it fosters a feeling of community!
If you care what we think
Whether “great!” or “it stinks!”
Allow comments
If your ego’s intact
And you welcome feedback
Allow comments

But if you’re
all about the scores
comments are abhorred --
and whatever for? We’re a forum!
Sure, a 555 makes you feel alive
Gives you extra drive
But if all you strive for… what boredom!

So unclench your two cheeks
And allow us to speak
In the comments
If we think you’re “all that”
How we relish a platform to cheer!

Your prerogative’s clear:
You can silence the jeers and the nonsense
But be brave, take the raves and the nays
It’s okay, allow comments!
This has been a public service announcement.

:-) There's been quite a bit of negative (and anonymous) commentary that has grown over the years, and quite considerably over the last one or two. I can understand why people don't want to feed the trolls, but it is a shame. Completely agree with the spirit of this one

Why don't they just use a log-in/account system? Though that might also cut down on people being able post parodies under multiple pseudonyms, which would be a shame *cough*.

There have been quite a few first-rate parodies over the past couple of weeks that I would like to have complimented, but the author didn't care to read what I had to say. Most disappointing. I don't see a problem with multiple pseudonyms, but perhaps Phred Phlips would disagree. The fellows who are working on their "Malcolms" won't drift into that category and cut down their numbers. By the way, this is a very fine parody in its own right, though of specialized interest to users of this site.

Since I can't comment on his site, I'm sure you'll understand when I borrow yours to commend Plumb Bob on his magnificent psychedelic mirror image parody of "Eve of Destruction". That's one crazy dude who's just too frustratin'. "Eve" is like, my all-time favorite Top-40 pop song. It is often parodied in the sense of being updated to reflect the author's views of current politics and social conditions. But, Plumb Bob has inverted just about the entire text. Very strange, but certainly gets my thumbs up (or is it a palm down) from a collector with about 50 different versions in my record and CD library.

Uh, no, we really DON'T understand why you would use OUR comment space to comment on SOMEONE ELSE's parody. We're all for comments good or bad, but come on, that just doesn't make sense! Maybe comment on another one of HIS parodies. Although if he doesn't allow comments on ANY of his, that even weirder...

Plumb Bob is the prime example of a good parodist who frustrates me by not allowing comments, which is the topic of your parody. Maybe he will see this and figure out how to check the little box. Sorry if you are offended that I used up your space. But you seem to hold the same feelings I do concerning authors who don't allow comments.

ok, as an act of good will, we will allow your comment to remain. ;p

This website used to be good, but it has gone downhill really badly with authors flaming each other with political nonsense. It's about time ChuckyG pulled the plug on this site.

@Me, I only wish you were in PVS, so that we could pull the plug on YOU!!!
