This Song is reaction to the surprising number of top musicians that have been killed by airplanes and helicopters. This shocking fact barnstormed me after doing research for parodies. It's not supposed to be funny. But what else can you do after you have cried.
Boy, the way Glen Miller played. Songs that made Rick Nelson great.
Jim Croce, just had it made. Killed by airplanes.
Didn't like John Denver's wake. Otis Redding watched the bay.
Poor, Ritchie Valens met fate. Killed by airplanes.
And you know who loved BOPPIN', eight was late and BIG was in.
Jim Reeve, we could use a man like Buddy Holly again.
Patsy Cline sang Crazy then. Ronnie Van Zant life just went.
Steve Gains was with Ronnie when? Killed by airplanes.
Eat a little Don McLean, watch Bill Graham presents.
Grieve yourself with Randy Roads it cost poor Ozzie a friend.
Flair was bue guitar was stong. Stevie Ray Vaughan sold a song.
I don't know just what went wrong. Where were the blades?

The number is astonishing. Too bad we can't put other names in the song: Dick Cheney, Bin Laden, Saud royal family, Paul Wolfowitz, Yasser Arafat, Simon Cowell, Pat Robertson, John Ashcroft, for starters.
Great to remember all these idols. Nicely done
Ah, I see you're a purist, pacing according to the unabridged song -- I was trying to follow along based on the condensed version Edith and Archie sing at the top of the show, so I was thrown until I researched it. Nicely done.
The bit about Randy Rhoads really affected me after I'd read what Ozzy and Sharon had to say about him in their 'Ordinary People' book. Also Ronnie Van Zant and Steve and Cassie Gaines because they also bring my late brother to mind - he loved Lynyrd Skynyrd.
