Song Parodies -> "That'll Be the Day (Bush Version)"

Original Song Title:

"That'll Be the Day"

 (MP3)
Original Performer:

Buddy Holly

Parody Song Title:

"That'll Be the Day (Bush Version)"

Parody Written by:

Michael Pacholek

The Lyrics

Written by Buddy Holly, a real Texan. About George W. Bush, a real Tex-ass. Keep the "skips" of Holly songs in mind when you rate the pacing. Also keep in mind that this song does NOT advocate Bush's death. I want him to live long enough to feel the hammer of history come down on him. If the reaction to his reaction to the New Orleans flood is any indication, it's already begun.
(guitar opening)

Well, that'll be the day, when Bush will not lie.
Ye-e-es, that'll be the day, when he'll hear us cry-y.
You say he does a good job, he don't even try.
Yes, that'll be the day-ay-ay that he'll die.

Well, we're sick of all his messin' and his lou-ousy guessin'.
A-all his cutting taxes and our money's gone.
We-ell, he says that Jesus is the ma-an he pleases.
His whole life proves that is wrong!

Well, that'll be the day, when Bush will not lie.
Ye-e-es, that'll be the day, when he'll hear us cry-y.
You say he does a good job, he don't even try.
Yes, that'll be the day-ay-ay that he'll die.

(guitar break)

Well, that'll be the day, when Bush will not lie.
Ye-e-es, that'll be the day, when he'll hear us cry-y.
You say he does a good job, he don't even try.
Yes, that'll be the day-ay-ay that he'll die.

We-ell, he did perfect the art of life without a heart.
So if he does good part, it won't seem true.
We-ell, I sit and tell ya that he'll give you just hell, yeah.
He'll do wrong 'til his life is through.

'Cause that'll be the day, when Bush will not lie.
Ye-e-es, that'll be the day, when he'll hear us cry-y.
You say he does a good job, he don't even try.
Yes, that'll be the day-ay-ay that he'll die.

Well, that'll be the day... whoo-hoo!
Well, that'll be the day... whoo-hoo!
Well, that'll be the day... whoo-hoo!
Well, that'll be the day... whoo-hoo!

(guitar close)
Hard to believe, but if Buddy Holly were still alive in 1998, he would've been 52... and he could've run for Governor and stopped Bush when we still had our best chance.

I don't expect it will be long before Linda rips into you over this one. This comes across as a critical POV without villifying the man himself. His actions or lack of actions speak for themselves. Linda's still ripping into me for having the brass you know whats to state my own opinions, feelings, and daring to criticize which of her parodies I thought were actually good, and which ones were not.

I must say, very well done in rhyming the parody with the original version. However, for future reference, if you plan on being political about things, consider backing up your statements in the parody itself. Now THAT would be impressive. Please take some time out of the large amount you obviously have and view my parodies: http://www.amiright.com/parody/2000s/greenday160.shtml http://www.amiright.com/parody/2000s/greenday154.shtml Thank you, Mr. Michael Pacholek.

I generally forbid myself to read Bush bashes. Criticism on FOREIGN politicians is none of my business. But you've been knocked for your Bush bashes before, so I've decided to take a look. Two lines sprung out for me: "He says that Jesus is the man he pleases, his whole life proves that is wrong." Very good line, I think, and it applies to many. A particularly funny line, I've found: "He did perfect the art of life without a heart, so if he does part it won't seem true."

Scathe: Why do I hit Bush on the head? Because if I kicked him in the ass, it might cause brain damage. Rob: I can't stand Green Day, though they did record another song for the Red Sox soundtrack. No, not "American Idiot" -- that's just for Johnny Damon. I'm talking about "Wake Me Up When September Ends." So any opinion I have of those parodies will be well under-informed. Dutchman: Considering their latest arrest (Jebby's), I'll put the antics of our "royal family" up against those of any nation with a royal family. Plus, Georgie has a harder time speaking English than Prince Claus had with his adopted land's language.

"Plus, Georgie has a harder time speaking English than Prince Claus had with his adopted land's language." So are you telling me that standing up in front of 400,000,000 Americans is easy? And then half of the rest of the world? Let me tell you something, Mike; until you have the balls to even consider voicing your opinions on live, international television, don't criticize one man who has been doing it for the past 6 years. But aside from that, no hard feelings.

Carol - My, you are fixation on me is flattering; you just can't get me out of your head huh? You are still steamed that I called you on your gross double standards and your manipulating personality that you are going around from song to song telling everyone you can about it. Golly â€" you have some real deep issues don’t you Carol?
