The Lyrics
In the 1980s, Boeing tried to develop a flying car called "Sky Commuter" with a tricycle layout, gas turbine engine driving 3 fans, and of Delta configuration. Very futuristic, Boeing invested $6 million for three prototypes that had everything but engines. One survives minus engine and is for sale for $72,000! A total waste.

ya know this parody does raise a good question it's the 21st century now and there's still no flying cars nor jetpacks! where are they? what about "The Jetsons?" was it all just... a lie? 5's
Reliance on drone tech and robotics...
Some conservative blogger once said "I grew up reading about the future, dreaming of my flying car and my jet backpack, and all I got was the dystopian government".
The Israeli Air Mule is probably as close as one can get to an air vehicle as big as a car that can snake through urban areas. It's not a flying car but a rescue UAV that can be adapted for firefighting, police work, transport, etc...
