The Lyrics

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, citing a report from the Labor Department for the month of February, proclaimed that "Today is a big day in America, only 36,000 people lost their jobs today (we know he really meant last month), which is really good." While unemployment remaining at 9.7% is still "undeniably devastating", he argued that matters would have been worse without the stimulus. I'd call that a hopeful sign, but never "a big day"! ;D

It's a big day in the U.S.
Says the leader Harry Reid.
The February stat's new unemployment?
Just thirty-six-thousand! What enjoyment!
The percent's still 9 point 7,
It's our great recovery.
Our plan sure works, shut up you jerks, and watch our smirks! You'll see
We've saved the economy!

It'a a big day in the U.S.,
Happy days are here again!
Let's all get back to health care that we're fronting.
We don't care if it's not what you're wanting!
'Though our boss says job creation
Every minute is Job One,
The stimulus - it works for us - so don't you fuss or run
Until we get health care done!

"Irish" they'd get their act together! ;D

@ MP: As I recall, unemployment in 1982 was up only about 1% or 2% from where Reagan "inherited" it. Over the following 6 years it dropped by half (tax cuts instead of "stimulus"). Contrast that with a runup from 5% to 10% in Obama's first year. 5+5*2
