Song Parodies -> "Silver Gals"

Original Song Title:

"Silver Bells"

 (MP3)
Original Performer:

Bing Crosby

Parody Song Title:

"Silver Gals"

Parody Written by:

Airfarcewon

The Lyrics

Dim lit houses
Minus spouses
Decorations, there's none
For some seniors
It's not a good season
Many tearful
And not cheerful
Share no holiday fun
Now, is when they still miss
Someone dear..

Silver Gals, with no pals
Cryin' in homes of the city
No phone rings,
No carol sings,
No one to share Christmas time

All alone nights
With no tree lights
Just some sad yuletide scene
And their mem'ries of
Old Christmas pleasures

As the world goes
By their windows
Lights that change red and green
Only bring more depressing
Thoughts near

Silver Gals, grey haired gals
So all alone, it's a pity
As they cope,
Their one hope
Is to get by Christmas day

Thanks, alvin, John, and Stephen.....We've all known people who have lost spouses, some even during the holiday season, and although, Christmas and New Years is joyous for most, I think it's right to acknowledge those less fortunate

That sounds like the right fodder for Charlie Chaplin.

Touching - my heart goes out for these folks. If anyone reading this parody knows of anyone like this make some cookies or something and go and ring their doorbell. I do this whenever I know someone like this. You will make their day and yours too. Good parody AFW.

Very profound, and deeply touching. The breadth of your emotional range is awesome. And I'll fifth (Jack Daniels, please) what alvin, JB, Wendy, and PMS began. Cheers!. p.s. I LIKE cookies
